Affinee Lai

Affinee Lai brings a unique combination of professional expertise and lived experience to her role on the AODCCC Management Committee. With an MBA in Marketing and over a decade of experience across Australia’s leading media companies, marketing consultancies, and creative agencies, she specialises in developing impactful communication strategies, building strategic partnerships, and delivering ethical and sustainable business solutions across the education, NFP, tourism, and events sectors.

Affinee’s journey into peer work began with personal challenges that became a foundation for connection, growth, and advocacy.

Throughout her journey, Affinee has collaborated extensively with organizations such as COMHWA, AODCCC, Lived Experience Australia, WA Recovery College Alliance, Shelter WA, WA Mental Health Commission, RichMind and Finding North Network. She currently works as a Lived Experience Advisor and Peer Educator, contributing to a wide range of advisory and co-design initiatives within the AOD and Mental Health and Homelessness sectors. A passionate advocate for reducing stigma and systemic inequities, particularly for people and families from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds, she centres lived experience in every aspect of her work.
