Adele James

Adele James has over 20 years’ experience in the community services sector, working across not-for-profit, Aboriginal Community Controlled, and government organisations. She has held frontline roles in Primary Health, Child Protection, and Perinatal Mental Wellbeing in urban and remote settings. Adele holds a BA in Sociology and is a qualified Community Mental Health Worker, an experienced peer worker, trainer, and group facilitator.

Adele brings a deep understanding of the impacts of alcohol and other drugs through both lived and professional experience. She is passionate about challenging stigma, amplifying underrepresented voices, and advocating whilst supporting individuals, families, workers, and communities to remain resilient. Adele values transformative, empowering and holistic approaches as necessary tools within systemic reform and lasting impact.
