Forum: Improving Consumer Involvement in the AOD Sector, hosted by DAO and WANADA
2015
HCC funded by DAO to form an initial working group to progress forum recommendations, including the development of a set of principles to guide services in consumer participation
DAO amalgamation into MHC
2016
Alcohol and other Drug Advisory Group (AODAG) is formed, comprising of consumers, not-forpro!t and government representatives
AODAG hire consultant to develop principles for consumer participation
2017
Document delivered to MHC: Principles and Best Practice Strategies for Consumer Engagement in AOD in WA
HCC funded by WAPHA to continue the AODAG to December 2017 to progress establishment of an AOD consumer peak and AOD consumer training
Progression of a consumer peak funding extended by WAPHA to June 2018
WANADA contribute funding toward consumer event
2018
Think-Tank to inform the development of an AOD consumer peak in WA and determine AOD consumer needs for training
Transitional AODAG comprising consumer representatives was formed, hosted by HCC.

WACOSS Peaks capacity building grant recieved in order to deliver a consumer led submission to the WA parlimentary inquiry: ”Alternate approaches to reducing illicit drug use and its e“ects on the community”. Consultation partnership formed with WANADA
Two community consultations and survey for regional members conducted.<br/ Submission to parliamentary enquiry written based on feedback from 80 participants
Commenced funding negotiations with MHC. Budget proposal committee formed. Funding report delivered to WACOSS.
Funding for 2019/20 received from MHC. Presented evidence to parliamentary inquiry committee.
Additional funding for 2020/21 received. Part-time, Fixed term Project Lead position established
